4 Types of Augmentative and Alternative Communication Apps
PODD – School 15+
PODD 15 School is a fantastic app that is a great tool for school-aged children. This app includes a similar range and placment of vocabulary to the 12 expanded functions PODD communication book. It has been designed to include predictably associated vocabulary that supports that production of 3-4 keyword-based sentences.

TDSNAP
TD Snap is a flexible communication app designed to support individuals with speech and language difficulties. It meets users where they are at while fostering the development and growth of communication, language and literacy skills. This app can be used accessibly via touch, eye gaze technology and scanning. As a software it is symbol-supported and is both easy to set up and use.

Proloquo2go
This is a popular one, so we are sure you’ve come across it before! Proloquo2Go is an award-winning AAC app that enables non-speaking children and adults to express themselves confidently and initiate conversations. It is highly flexible and can be personalised to the individual user; taking into consideration their needs and accommodating for various disabilities.

LAMP
LAMP is another augmentative and alternative communication app that can be used to support the communication of individuals who are non-speaking or who require additional support for clear communication. LAMP Words for Life is structured to enable early success and allows the client’s vocabulary and communication skills to grow in a way that doesn’t require re-learning the system along the way. As a pre-programmed vocabulary program, Words for Life doesn’t require extensive customisation.
