Our Fees at SpeechEase
- Speech Pathologist sessions – $193.99 per hour
- Allied Health Assistant (AHA) sessions – $86.79 per hour
- Session lengths – most appointments are 70 minutes (1 unit) or 95 minutes (1.5 units)
- Travel (if applicable) – billed at the therapist’s hourly rate for time, plus non-labour costs, in line with NDIS travel rules.
Please note: While NDIS allows travel to be billed at 50% of the therapist’s rate, this does not cover the real cost of providing services in our region. For this reason, we generally do not offer travel for NDIS services, and encourage participants to attend clinic or telehealth appointments where possible.
SpeechEase Speech Therapy is a registered provider of:
- National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS);
- Medicare;
- Department of Veterans Affairs; and
- Most private health funds
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
We are registered providers of the NDIS for early childhood early intervention (ECEI), therapeutic supports and some assistive technology. We work with all participants of the NDIS regardless of their age or how their plan is managed – NDIS managed, plan managed by a third party or self managed. We need you to bring along your NDIS reference number, plan dates and the plan goals to your initial session to ensure we provide supports that meet the NDIS’ requirements.
Medicare
You may be eligible to access a rebate for your speech therapy session at SpeechEase using a Chronic Disease Management plan through a referral from your General Practitioner (GP). Please note that we don’t offer appointments that are fully covered by a Medicare rebate, so there will be some out of pocket expense associated with your session. Private Health
SpeechEase offers the convenience to claim eligible private health rebates onsite from a large range of private health funds. Please contact your private health insurance company to find out the amount or percentage of the fee they will cover as this differs with each health fund and policy level.
