Stacey Meikle

Stacey loves to learn and makes the most of the opportunities that come her way, whether that’s the opportunity to get her truck and forklift licences or her current opportunity to work with the team and clients at SpeechEase.

As a clinic support assistant, Stacey is probably the first person you’ll see when you walk through our doors. She welcomes clients and helps kids settle in, often playing a game or two with them before their therapy starts. She also supports our speechies, helping with bookings and paperwork and disinfecting toys between therapy sessions as part of our infection control procedures.

Stacey is a busy mum of 3 kids. One of her daughters is hearing impaired and has needed regular speech therapy over the years, often involving trips to Brisbane since there was no local option. Stacey has an instinctive sympathy for the families who belong to SpeechEase and understands that many face barriers to accessing care while managing the ongoing challenges and joys of parenting a child with communication difficulties. Stacey is yet to become the astronaut she dreamt of being as a kid, but she loves helping other people shoot for the stars.

When she’s not working, Stacey likes renovating her house, working on a series of small projects to make the place her own. When her daughters are a bit older, she may consider studying or helping to set up new speech pathology clinics.
